Endurance GB Riding Club Teams

Last year Endurance GB set up a new event consisting of teams comprising Riding Club members around the country who are not EGB members but may have an interest in trying out Endurance Riding for the first time. Regional heats were held during 2010 culminating in a National Final.

Each Riding Club puts forward a squad of a minimum of 3 combinations and a maximum of 6 with 1 or 2 combinations riding as individuals. The SRC Endurance team was christened ‘SOLIHULL SUPERSTARS’ with 4 on the team and one running as an individual, competing at Cirencester on Sunday 20th June with another member joining in September. Following on from the huge success of last year’s Endurance GB Riding Club Team event, once again there is a succession of qualifying events around the country for riders who wish to be part of their local RC Team. SOLIHULL SUPERSTARS won best turned out and came 6th out of 11 teams so we hope to do even better this year.

The 2011 National Final was held at The College Ride, The College Equestrian Centre, Bedfordshire on Sunday 18th September over a distance of 33km. REPORT

Please note you do not need to own an Arab for this competition as any breed of horse of reasonable fitness can easily do 30 to 35km. Training, advice, guidance and support will be made available so even if you know nothing about Endurance Riding you will soon learn. We look forward to hearing from you soon !
